Man Shot by Roma Police Faces Charges
ROMA – A man who was shot by police he is out of the hospital and facing charges.
Roma police say officers tried to talk to 26-year-old Steven Rodriguez about an assault investigation on Sunday. He fled the scene and lead police on a chase.
They say at one point Rodriguez tried to run over an officer prompting the officer to open fire. Rodriguez was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. He was treated and released.
Rodriguez is charged with evading arrest. He is also charged with deadly conduct in connection to an incident back in January.
Teen Arrested After Raid in Donna to Face Judge
DONNA – A teen arrested after a raid at a Donna home is expected to face a judge Wednesday.
Investigators from the Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Department raided a home on Yanez Street on Monday. Deputies say a weapon at the home was used in the recent shooting at a Border Patrol agent.
Investigators say they believe a the teen sold that weapon to the homeowner. The teen was later arrested. The 15-year-old is expected to be charged with deadly conduct.

Authorities Say Charges Not Likely in Shooting Probe
HIDALGO COUNTY – Hidalgo County Sheriff deputies don’t expect charges to be filed in a deadly conduct investigation north of Weslaco.
The incident happened just before 7 Thursday night at a home near Mile 11 and 4 ½ West. A couple and their 11-year-old daughter had just arrived at the home. They were getting out of their SUV when they said they noticed their neighbor was carrying a gun. They said he was walking toward them and then opened fire.
A captain with the Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office said they never found the person who allegedly fired shots. The incident is now considered a shots fired call.
