San Benito Man in Jail After Standoff
SAN BENITO – A San Benito man remains in county jail after an alleged drive-by shooting that led to a brief standoff.
Police say Eduardo Herrera Jr. allegedly shot at property on Camino Angosto early Saturday morning. Someone called in a tip with a description of Herrera’s car. Officers later found it parked at his apartment on Stenger Road.
Herrera refused to speak with officers and remained in his apartment for nearly two hours before giving up without incident. Police tell us they were concerned at the time because two women and five children were inside Herrera’s apartment.
No one was hurt. Herrera faces several charges.
